I was skeptical of my purchase, after reading previous reviews. However, upon first use, I didn't experience any of the problems previous commenters encountered. It heated up quickly. I went from Frozen (Beef and Vegetables) and Cold (Tomato Juice and Beef Broth) ingredients to a delicious pot of fully cooked homemade Vegetable Beef Soup in just 45 minutes. Same as on a traditional cooktop.
The price can't be beat. This will serve as a great alternative until I'm able to replace my regular cooktop, and serve as a great added piece afterward.
You also want to make sure the insert will fit your specific wood stove. Some inserts are designed specifically for certain makes and models of wood stoves, while others can be used with any type of wood stove. Blaze King
